DESIGN DIRECTOR


Jean is one of the most internationally-awarded Ghanaian art directors and creative individuals. Since graduating from Ashesi University and breaking onto the design and advertising scene in 2019, Jean's work has been recognized with some of the highest design industry honours.

As Kenga’s design director, Jean steers the company’s visual identity and oversees all design and visual communication projects.

He has won design awards such as the Graphis Awards (1 Gold, 3 Silvers, 1 Honorable Mention), Communication Arts Advertising Awards (1 Gold), Creativity International Awards (1 Bronze), AD STARS awards (1 Finalist), Art Directors Club Awards (1 Merit), and 3 Finalist Honours from The Loerie Awards: the highest creative accolade in Africa and Middle East; making him one of the first and youngest Ghanaians ever to receive the honours.

Jean’s work has also been featured in online publications including Ads of the World, DesignTAXI, Creative Bloq, Brilliant Ads and on World Brand Design Society. In 2019, Jean became a member of D&AD; a global association for creative advertising and design awards. In 2022, he was invited to be a member of the AD STARS global awards jury.

With a background in art direction and copywriting for advertising, Jean has lent his relentless passion for creative excellence to clients like AirtelTigo, Shell, Total, Surfline, Club Beer, Devtraco Plus, Vanguard Assurance, MiLife Insurance, National Road Safety Commission and Ideal Milk, as well as successful collaborations with Ashesi University, The United Nations, Pantone Color Institute, The One Club for Creativity’s #WeAreOne design initiative and Designers Against Coronavirus (DAC).

Jean has now shifted his creative appetite to brand, media and communications design. He is the Founder and Design Director for
Don't Be A Stranger: an award-winning design and branding agency, using cut-through creativity to make businesses and organizations relatable, relevant and interesting to their audiences.
